Six drown as commercial boat capsizes in Lagos, Nigeria

A commercial boat carrying more than 17 people has capsized in the Badore area of Lagos, The Punch reports.
The tragic incident happened today, Saturday, January 30. The commercial boat was reportedly conveying passengers to the Lekki area of Lagos.
It was reported that six passengers drowned while 11 others were rescued.
The exact number of the passengers aboard the boat has not been confirmed but rescue agencies are already on ground.
A similar tragic incident involving a boat mishap occoured a few months ago when a 14-sitter boat conveying school children capsized along the Ojo Irewe waterways in Lagos. Six of them reportedly drowned, while eight others including the driver were rescued.
